F1 and the FIA announced the 2027 calendar on 16 September. It has 24 rounds, sprints rise to ten, and Portugal and Turkey return while the Dutch GP drops off. The Spanish GP in Barcelona will alternate with the Belgian GP, so it is absent in 2027 and returns in 2028.
What's in and what's out
According to PlanetF1, the Portuguese GP will be held at the Autódromo do Algarve in Portimão on 20 June, and the Turkish GP returns to Istanbul Park for the first time since 2021 on 3 October. The Dutch GP has left the calendar after organisers chose not to pursue a new deal beyond 2026. The Spanish GP will be held on 12 September at Madrid's new circuit (styled 'Madring' by RaceFans), and Barcelona returns in 2028, alternating with Belgium. PlanetF1 added that Barcelona could be used as a pre-season test venue or reserve host.
The four Middle East races (Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi) carry an asterisk because of uncertainty over the situation in the region.
Ten sprints
Sprints will be held at ten events: Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, Britain, Italy, Brazil, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. PlanetF1 noted that Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi will host a sprint for the first time, while Canada, Britain, Italy, São Paulo and Qatar see the format return. RaceFans singled out Monaco hosting its first sprint.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the 2027 calendar "brings together iconic circuits and vibrant cities", and that expanding sprints to ten events would give fans "more intensity, drama and wheel-to-wheel action". FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said 24 grands prix across five continents showed the sport's "global appeal and continued growth".
