After the Dutch Grand Prix the FIA stewards handed time penalties and penalty points to Arvid Lindblad, Franco Colapinto and Liam Lawson, while Oliver Bearman (Haas) escaped with a reprimand. With a red flag on the opening lap, the yellow-flag and restart-procedure rulings all landed together, and Colapinto is now on four penalty points for the 12-month period. Twelve points bring a one-race ban.
Double-yellow overtakes on lap 1: drive-throughs
PlanetF1 reports that Arvid Lindblad overtook Pierre Gasly under double yellow flags and received a drive-through and two penalty points. The stewards wrote that "normally such infringement requires a 10 second stop/go penalty" but took into account "the significant amount of debris on track" as mitigating circumstances. Franco Colapinto also passed Yuki Tsunoda under double yellows and received the same drive-through and two points.
PlanetF1 places Lindblad's pass entering Turn 14, before the line at the end of lap 1. Lapchive records Lindblad's drive-through as issued and served on lap 5, and Colapinto's as issued on lap 7 and served on lap 8. Lindblad finished 12th and Colapinto 14th.
Single yellow at Turn 3: two 10-second penalties
According to GPFans, Liam Lawson and Colapinto each received a 10-second penalty and one penalty point for passing a single yellow flag at Turn 3 without discernibly reducing speed. The stewards noted that the drivers also received a visible warning on the dash and, because the infringement was "not considered dangerous or egregious", chose the lower end of the scale. Lawson's total was reported as three points, and the FIA document is Doc 66 (car 30). Lapchive records the penalties as issued on lap 70 (Lawson) and lap 68 (Colapinto) and added after the race.
Both outlets give Colapinto four points, but the penalties they list (2 plus 1) add up to three, and the articles do not explain the missing point. Lapchive's documents show his total at three after the double-yellow offence and four after the single-yellow one.
Bearman reprimanded: red light at the restart
GPFans reports that Bearman was investigated for leaving the pit lane on a red light as cars were released for the restart after the red flag, and received only a reprimand. The stewards said a red-light breach during a race would normally bring a "very heavy" penalty, but this one came in the run-up to the restart, with the race "technically already resumed" under Article B5.15.2g. Lapchive also lists a reprimand for Gabriel Bortoleto (Doc 70) for the same offence, with Bearman's as Doc 69, both first reprimands of the season.
Lapchive additionally records a 10-second penalty for Carlos Sainz for the collision with Alexander Albon (Doc 68), a black-and-white flag warning for Oscar Piastri, and deleted laps for Albon and Sainz for track limits.
