Kimi Antonelli won Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, round six of the season, after starting from pole. The Race says it was his fifth win in six grands prix this year, and Lapchive's records show him leading the drivers' standings on 156 points, 66 clear of second-placed Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton finished 6.271 seconds behind in second, with Isack Hadjar third.

Top ten in the race

The race ran 78 laps over 260.286 km on a dry track (Lapchive logs 24C air and 38C track). Antonelli's time was 2:23:31.243, and he also set the fastest lap, a 1:13.481 on lap 76. Hamilton was next on the fastest-laps table with a 1:14.643 on lap 74.

Ocon's gap is +37.140 on both the official F1 page and Lapchive, but The Race lists +37.410. This article follows the figure the two agree on. Alonso started 21st and took the last point in tenth, while Lindblad climbed from 15th on the grid to sixth. Mercedes' George Russell started sixth and finished twelfth.

Qualifying and retirements

Lapchive's records give Antonelli's pole time as a 1:12.051 in Q3, with Max Verstappen second on the grid at +0.043 and Hamilton third at +0.228. Verstappen, however, retired with zero laps completed. Neither the official F1 results nor The Race's table gives a reason, so the sources consulted do not establish the cause.

Six drivers failed to finish: Charles Leclerc (lap 64), Lance Stroll (lap 56), Lando Norris (lap 43), Oliver Bearman (lap 27), Valtteri Bottas (lap 15) and Verstappen. Carlos Sainz ran 70 laps and is classified 16th, though the official table marks him as a retirement.

Safety cars, red flag and penalties

Lapchive's log shows safety cars on laps 60 and 66, plus a red flag marked on lap 68 and a standing restart on lap 70. Hamilton took a five-second penalty on lap 34 for speeding in the pit lane (60.1 km/h) and served it at his lap-60 stop. Russell and Franco Colapinto were given five seconds for the same offence.

Sergio Perez was handed a 10-second penalty after the race. The Race says it cost Cadillac its first F1 point and dropped him to last in the classification. The reason differs by source: The Race and Lapchive say he was out of position at the restart, while the official F1 notes say a false start.

The mandatory tyre rule is unconfirmed

In Lapchive's pit log most of the leaders stopped three times; Antonelli pitted on laps 37, 61 and 66. Reporting on Monaco's required tyre sets conflicts. The Race said in August 2025 that the three-sets clause would be used again in 2026. PlanetF1 (28 February) reported it had been removed from the 2026 sporting regulations. GPFans (1 March) headlined it as scrapped, yet the regulation text it quotes still contains the same clause. I could not check the regulations themselves, so this article does not attribute the three-stop pattern to any rule.
