The only penalty stewards actually handed out at the Austrian Grand Prix was a five-second sanction for Fernando Alonso's pit-lane speeding. The Turn 6 scrap between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, which Verstappen called a "clear penalty" on the radio, was noted and then closed with no further action. The top order was not changed by any in-race ruling.
Hamilton and Verstappen: investigated, no further action
According to PlanetF1's race report, Verstappen passed Hamilton at Turn 3 on lap 11 and Hamilton took the place back. Hamilton squeezed him towards the gravel, Verstappen backed out and said "Clear penalty" on the radio. GPFans described Verstappen being forced onto the gravel on the outside at Turn 6 and said the FIA announced on lap 15 that Hamilton had been noted for forcing another driver off the track. The two outlets place the incident at different corners (Turn 3 and Turn 6) and different laps (11 and 15), so the description of the scene differs.
The outcome is the same in both: the stewards later decided Hamilton had done nothing wrong and issued no further action or penalty. Sky commentator Karun Chandhok called the move "clean, it was on the edge, it was on the limit, but great racing." Neither article cites a regulation article. Verstappen later passed Hamilton again, and the final order was Verstappen second and Hamilton fifth.
Alonso's five seconds and the warnings
In Lapchive's stewards' log, Alonso was caught at 80.1 km/h in the pit lane, was given a five-second penalty on lap 41 and served it on lap 49. He started 21st and finished 18th (+4.833). The page does not say whether the five seconds is included in that gap.
- Lando Norris: black-and-white flag warning for track limits on lap 71. PlanetF1 said he was also noted for a potential pit-lane infringement but gave no outcome.
- Isack Hadjar: black-and-white flag warning for exceeding the time limit between the safety car lines.
- Carlos Sainz: black-and-white flag warning for driving unnecessarily slowly.
- Sergio Pérez: moved before the start signal, no penalty.
No-action list and deleted laps
Blue-flag cases for Lance Stroll and Alonso, Oscar Piastri at the safety car lines, Alexander Albon under a single yellow flag and Liam Lawson's practice start were all closed with no further action. Two track-limit incidents for Andrea Kimi Antonelli also ended with no further action, per PlanetF1. Lap times were deleted for track limits and double yellow flags for Hamilton, Colapinto, Hadjar, Leclerc, Lawson, Norris, Piastri, Lindblad, Antonelli, Russell, Bottas, Stroll and Alonso.
